We are at work for around 260 days a year, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a huge amount of attention is now being payed to how we spend our time there, how we look after ourselves when we aren’t there and work’s impact on our productivity, as well as our overall wellbeing. It’s about time!

In the UK, stress is known to be the most common work related illness, with 12.5 million working days lost due to stress-related conditions in 2016/17. Lack of sleep is linked to a numerous of health problems including cognitive dysfunction, depression, stress, Type II diabetes and weight gain. We know our nutritional input has a huge impact on our performance so it’s in everyone’s benefit that a light is shone on keeping healthy and happy, especially at work.

These talks cover an array of topics not simply surrounding health and wellbeing; they inspire creativity and allow the team to switch off for an hour; something that’s been proven to increase productivity. We’ve also tackled stress management at the office, conversational skills, public speaking and presentation skills as well as benefits of embroidery, office yoga and meditation, mindful snacking, and most recently Melissa Hemsley came in to teach us how to cook nutritionally in 30 minutes!

In the last few years, wellness has truly shifted into a societal and cultural movement that not only benefits us as individuals but benefits employers, too – the best you can ask for your company is healthy and happy staff.
