Addicted to beauty?

 Addicted to beauty?

It seems beauty and spa treatments are becoming a necessity… new research suggests that one in four UK women have ‘gone without’ in order to afford a beauty treatment or haircut.

On average, women in the UK spend an average of £22,00 over their working lifetime on in-salon treatments, 11 per cent a salon weekly and over half of women who responded to the research survey visit monthly.

In general, UK women spend an average of £370 a year on hair and beauty appointments according to the research from the organisers of Salon International.

Jayne Lewis Orr, executive director of Salon International says: “The hair and beauty industry currently generates £7bn each year, a figure which is rising annually. There is an incredibly strong correlation between how people look, and how it makes them feel, and thanks to the rise in social media, celebrity culture and advancements in hair and beauty technology, people now see their visits to the hair or beauty salon as integral to their identity and wellbeing, and no longer just a luxury treat.”
