BC Softwear has added a bamboo bathrobe to its professional spa range.
Bamboo is revered for its ecological benefits but also offers improved absorbency. The new 500gsm robe is made from a bamboo and cotton blend, which offers antibacterial and anti-microbial properties as well as the benefits of increased absorption. Bamboo is also naturally anti-fungal, anti-static and hypoallergenic.
BC Softwear, which earlier this year announced its intention to remove plastic bags from all hotel slippers, flip flops and towels, also launched its new Pure Spa Linen range at Professional Beauty, aimed at five and six star properties.
“From March onwards, items such as slippers and flip flops will no longer be wrapped in plastic, an initiative that will contribute to reducing 50 tonnes of unnecessary plastic that’s currently washing into our seas and landfill,” says managing director Barbara Cooke. “We are very proud to be leading this important initiative. There are a few who still need convincing – I guess some find change more difficult – and we recognise that housekeepers have the job of explaining to guests why slippers are no longer wrapped, so we’ve created a leaflet for hotels to use.”
