Build begins on third TMC franchise

The Massage Company (TMC) has announced that the build and fitout programme has begun on its third centre in High Wycombe.

Franchisees Mark and Rachel Coldham joined TMC – founded by Charlie Thompson and Elliot Walker – in December 2017.

The pair started out on a very different career path, having met at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2005, before joining the Royal Artillery in 2006. Some years later, looking for a project they could call their own, they stumbled upon an advertisement for TMC. After meeting the team at the National Franchise Exhibition in Birmingham the Coldhams joined TMC at the end of 2017 and have since been identifying the right property and learning about the operational side of the business.

CBRE has now acquired their new centre in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The 3,800sq ft site will comprise 13 treatment rooms and offer Swedish, deep tissue, sports and maternity massage treatments. The centre is scheduled to open later this month.

Elliot Walker, The Massage Company’s co-founder and CEO says: “As the high street dramatically changes, leisure services will fill the void left by retailers struggling to adapt. Customers want value, convenience and massage expertise at an affordable price. If TMC continues to meet these needs, then our ambitious plans to provide UK wide coverage is likely to be achieved.”

The first TMC centre opened in Camberley, Surrey in March 2016.
