 Cunard unveils first in-house spa

Cruise line Cunard will launch a holistic spa concept, Mareel, on-board its newly refurbished Queen Elizabeth this month.

Co-created with Canyon Ranch, who will offer marine-based wellness treatments, Mareel Wellness & Beauty will be rolled out to the Queen Victoria later in the month and the Queen Mary 2 from November 2020.

Meaning phosphorescence of the ocean in old Norse, the Mareel Spa will offer ocean-inspired wellness and beauty experiences in a luxury space. The spa menu will feature seawater experiences and marine-inspired treatments using Voya products.

Angus Struthers, vice president, marketing, Cunard, says: “We are delighted to share news of Mareel Wellness & Beauty, Cunard’s first ever own spa concept. Wellbeing is key to life and feeling relaxed in mind and body is an important part of any holiday. We are thrilled to offer such a luxurious spa at sea for our guests.”

Facilities will include a couple’s suite for seaweed bathing rituals, a meditation room with acoustic resonance loungers, a reconfigured multifunctional fitness centre and studio space and sound therapy facilities in every treatment room.
