Finding some balance

 Finding some balance

Balance Holidays, launched late last year, is giving hotels and spas the opportunity to offer five-star wellness retreats to their guests, without having to create them from scratch.

The company specialises in wellness holidays and is offering luxury hotels with spas the opportunity to capitalise on the burgeoning wellness tourism market trend (set to reach $890 million by 2022).

Balance Holidays was founded by Livia Manca di Villahermosa after she struggled to find a wellness retreat combined with a 5-star hotel experience. The limited high-end options on the market meant she was forced to do her own research, from which Balance Holidays was born.

The company offers three-day retreats designed for guests at the beginning of their wellness journeys, as well as those who want to get back on track.

The retreats – the first of which will be held early this year at The Lake Lodges at Châteauneuf-du-Pape and at The Tree Houses in the grounds of the Chateau de Raray in France – offer yoga, mindfulness, massage and silvotherapy (treehugging), and are designed to equip guests with wellbeing tools they can apply to their everyday lives when they return home.

Livia Manca di Villahermosa says: “I know, from personal experience, how confusing the wellness retreat market can be, so I am here to provide advice and reassurance, knowing that all our 5-star hotel and resort partners are aligned with their customers’ needs. Our retreats are not about deprivation, but understanding and education.”
