Harrods replaces Urban Retreat

 Harrods replaces Urban Retreat

Harrods is to open an in-house hair and beauty salon, replacing Urban Retreat after 16 years. The luxury London retailer's new destination is part of its growing beauty and wellness division.

The Harrods Hair and Beauty Salon, which occupies part of the fifth floor of the world famous store, forms part of Harrods’ Redefining Luxury initiative. It will offer treatments including hair styling, manicures, pedicures, facials, hammam services and hair removal.

Harrods has announced plans to expand the salon across two floors as part of a £200m revamp of its beauty hall. It will continue to offer the existing Urban Retreat treatments and services, and the Urban Retreat team are expected to continue working at the salon as part of Harrods’ in-house team.

The luxury retailer has already bolstered its beauty services with the launch of a Wellness Clinic in May last year, a space dedicated to improving the wellness of shoppers with facilities including treatment rooms, training studios and a private consultation room.

Reena Hammer, managing director of Urban Retreat, says: “We look proudly upon what we have achieved during our time at Harrods and look ahead to the next chapter of our business and sharing our exciting plans for the future of Urban Retreat.”

In a company statement, Harrods said: “We wish the Urban Retreat brand every success in its future plans and thank the entire team for their dedication and commitment to maintaining the highest standards in service over the past 16 years.”
