Organic seaweed skincare company ishga is taking an eco-friendly approach to its packaging, with the aim of becoming completely plastic-free.
Its retail range will now be presented in a more environmentally friendly recyclable glass and aluminium. This follows a review of its products, packaging and manufacturing processes and a focus on its commitment to help reduce the amount of plastic in the oceans.
ishga has phased out its plastic jars and bottles, replacing them with 100% recyclable frosted glass alternatives, complete with aluminium lids. It has also eliminated the use of laminated product boxes.
In its professional range, ishga has switched from using plastic buckets to biodegradable paper bags for some products such as bath salts and seaweed powder.
ishga recently celebrated its partnership as official supplier of The Solheim Cup with a limited-edition glass candle.
Players at the biennial women’s golf tournament will receive a 30ml limited-edition seaweed candle made from soya wax and a sprinkle of hand-harvested Hebridean seaweed.
