 Six Senses partners with Timeshifter

Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas has partnered with the Timeshifter jet lag app to improve guests’ traveling experiences.

The Timeshifter app, which has been developed with Harvard Medical School Associate Professor Steven Lockley, is based on the latest research into sleep and circadian neuroscience. It will be available to all guests booking directly through Six Senses.

Jet lag is caused when the sleep-wake and light-dark cycles shift too quickly for the 24-hour circadian clock in the brain to adapt. The app offers highly personalised jet lag plans and realistic advice based on the traveller’s sleep pattern, chronotype and flight plan.

There is also a unique Quick Turnaround feature for business travellers wanting to adapt quickly. The algorithm behind the Timeshifter app has already been used to help astronauts and elite athletes eliminate jet lag.

Neil Jacobs, chief executive officer of Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, says: “We all love to feel good when traveling, but flying long distances can cause stress, fatigue, moodiness and restless nights. We’re delighted to partner with Timeshifter to provide our guests with a state-of-the-art tool so they can get the most out of their holiday.”
