The Spa at Mandarin Oriental in Hyde park, London, which has been closed for an overhaul, has revealed details of what the newly-renovated spa will look like when it opens in May.

The spa’s revamp is part of one of the most extensive renovations in the hotel’s 115-year history.

Designed to provide guests with ‘a haven of tranquillity’, the spa will have 14 treatment rooms, plus an Oriental suite with two massage beds and a Rasul water temple.

Treatments have been created by brand-partners Aromatherapy Associates, Sodashi, Linda Meredith and niche Swiss brand Nescens will be showcasing its ‘better ageing’ approach to skin. Mandarin Oriental’s own signature therapies will also be on offer, as well as a range of face and body treatments using the brand’s signature oils.

The spa will include two beauty rooms, a consultation room for traditional Asante Chinese Medicine treatments and a fitness centre. There will also be a Bastien Gonzalez Pedi:Mani:Cure Studio.

The East-meets-West décor, which has been created by globally renowned designer Adam Tihany, combines ancient Chinese elements with a modern environment.

Tihany says: “We want guests to immediately feel enveloped in luxury and tranquillity. Our work centres around the art of moving people through space and creating an atmosphere that is unique and inspirational.”
