The Spa at the Principal opens its doors

The Spa at the Principal opens its doors

The first spa in Scotland to offer Oskia treatments has opened this month in Edinburgh’s Charlotte Square.

The Spa at the Principal is a new boutique spa, housed in The Principal Edinburgh Charlotte Square, a city centre hotel consisting of seven interconnecting Georgian townhouses. It features three treatments rooms, a 12m mood lit pool, a thermal area with a sauna and steam rooms, and experience showers.

Treatments will be provided by award-winning British organic range, Oskia. The Spa will also offer ishga treatments, which use pure Scottish seaweed for its healing, anti-oxidant properties.

A new gym features Intenza Fitness cardio equipment and impulse strength stations along with free weights, a fitness studio and a designated stretch and core space. The gym also includes a custom-built fitness studio, offering all the latest in functional equipment including a rig, TRX stations, sprint track, kettle bells and sand bags.

The spa completes The Principal Edinburgh Charlotte’s recent multi-million restoration project.

Johan Scheepers, general manager, says: “The new Spa at The Principal is the final piece of the jigsaw and marks the completion of our beautiful new hotel. We’re excited to see everything come together and believe that the spa has something different to offer, both for hotel guests and for Edinburgh locals.”
