Liverpool’s Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa has unveiled multi-million-pound transformation plans.
The four-star resort has submitted a planning application, which outline an £18m revamp including expansion of the hotel and a new spa building, as well as 22 Eco Lodges.
The new spa is proposed to sit near the 10th hole Fairway Lake, and is designed to be a key attraction for the resort. It will include a number of treatment rooms and relaxation areas with lakeside views, a thermal suite, saunas and hot tubs, indoor and outdoor vitality pools and a bistro with external terrace.
The existing spa and health club will be converted to make space for 20 extra rooms.
Christopher King, director of CS Hotel Solutions, says: “The proposed plans, if approved, will deliver a step change in the quality and range of accommodation available at Formby Hall enabling it to compete with other destination resorts across the UK.”
