£200m wellness village for Wales

£200m wellness village for Wales

An outline planning application has been submitted by Carmarthenshire Council for an innovative Wellness and Life Science Village in Llanelli.

The £200 million Carmarthenshire coast development, one of the first of its kind in the world, will include a wellness hotel and wellness spa alongside a leisure centre, sports and wellbeing centre and primary care centre.

If the project receives planning permission, the site at Delta Lakes would be scheduled to open in 2021. Subject to planning approvals, work could start towards the end of the year.

The development would also feature a Community Health Hub, housing an Institute of Life Sciences, a nursing home, an eco-park for outdoor learning and landscaped lakeside facilities for walking, cycling and other outdoor activities.

The entire project is expected to be completed in 2023.
