The UK Spa Association (UKSA) has released the figures from the 2016 National Spa Week (NSW) event, which took place from 31 October to 4 November.
With 317 spas and suppliers registered on the NSW website this year, a total of £2,000 was raised. The funds will go to Macmillan Cancer Support to help build a spa unit at the Macmillan Woodlands Centre, a dedicated chemotherapy facility at Hinchingbrook Hospital in Cambridgeshire. Patients undergoing chemotherapy will be able to attend the new spa unit to enjoy a range of complimentary treatments and therapies.
The campaign also revealed that #nationalspaweek trended on Twitter, with companies including Gala Bingo, Smooth FM and VisitBritain joining in the social media buzz, while a “huge amount” of web presence and articles were published in support of NSW.
UKSA is encouraging any spas who participated in NSW to complete a short survey via the following link:

The organisation also extended their thanks to all participating spas and suppliers for helping to “pave the way for future NSW success”.
