Akwaterra launches in UK

The award-winning French massage concept, Akwaterra, is now available to spas and salons in the UK and Ireland.

An innovative, indulging treatment, Akwaterra uses simple, water-filled ceramic pods. The concept is based on the synergy between earth and water.

The ergonomically designed sandstone pods, which are filled with water and immersed in a bespoke warming dish, are intended to relieve and soothe muscle tension and induce complete relaxation. Originally devised in the South of France, each pair of pods differs in shape, to effectively targets specific areas.

‘Kinsey’ is a large, rounded pod with smaller bulbs on its underside to aid circulation and tighten the skin, while draining toxins. ‘Kaya’ is triangular and targets specific tendons and ligaments.

Smooth and round, ‘Satinka’ provokes deep relaxation while ‘Ishka’ is small enough to be used on the face, improving micro-circulation and tightening the epidermis. Therapists use the warm pods, in conjunction with essential oils to apply a continuous flow of pressure all over the body and face.

Awarded the Prix H. Pierantoni award for innovation in 2015, Akwaterra has been added to the spa menus at Lodore Falls in the Lake District and The Langley in Buckinghamshire. It is also being taken on in Tribe Spa at Lanelay Hall and by the Spa Experience Group.

Akwaterra is available to spas and salons exclusively through Spa Voyage.
