Armathwaite Hall launches Cancer Touch

Armathwaite Hall launches Cancer Touch

With 96% per cent of spas still turning away guests with cancer, 2018 has seen a public outcry for more to be equipped to provide services to those living with or recovering from the illness.

The Lake District’s Armathwaite Hall has become the latest to qualify its spa team with the Made For Life Foundation to ensure the spa is a wellness-enhancing space for every single guest.

The spa will now offer Cancer Touch Therapy treatments for those currently living with or recovering from cancer. Cancer Touch Therapy was developed taking advice from trained oncology massage teachers, advisors within the oncology team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and Macmillan. Treatments available will include the nurturing ‘Hand on Heart’ treatment for the head, face, back and shoulders, the ‘Catch the breath’ back and head treatment and the ‘Soothe and Nurture’ organic facial.

Roberta Griffiths, Spa Director at Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa, says: “We have always prided ourselves on being inclusive but the new Cancer Touch Therapy treatments mean we can now provide enjoyable and relaxing experiences for all.”
