Armathwaite Hall Spa gets competitive edge

A £100,000 gym redevelopment at Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa gives guests the chance to improve performance and achieve their sporting goals.

In line with its guest demographics, Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa has installed new equipment, which appeals to people who are fit and who want to boost their fitness potential.

The gym redevelopment features brand new Life Fitness equipment, including IC7 Indoor Cycles, which emulate a real road bike and monitor power, speed and leg function. It also has a Squat Rack & Platform with Olympic bar which can increase performance in power training routines.

For guests who want to work out as part of a rehabilitative programme, the new gym includes a GX Water Rower, which limits the amount of strain put on the user’s back and hips. It also has a Curved Treadmill, which encourages correct foot placement when walking or running. The gym uses smart technology that can feed back performance goals and achievements to guests so they can take it away with them and incorporate into their at home training schedules.

Spa and Leisure Director, Roberta Griffiths says: “Based in the Lake District we attract a great many active people.  We realised that offering simply gym equipment wasn’t enough as many of these people regularly participate in fitness, sporting and leisure activities which require specific equipment and programmes for both muscle recovery and performance.  Our new gym addresses these needs ensuring that our visitors take care of their bodies, continue to progress in their training and leave in the best condition possible.”
