Bamford Haybarn Spas opens first US site

Miami Beach is home to America’s first Bamford Haybarn outpost

Originally created by Carole Bamford in the English Cotswolds, the Bamford Haybarn brand has migrated across the pond, with a new 4500sq ft spa in Miami Beach.

Upstairs at the 426-room 1 Hotel South Beach, the 4,500sq ft spa has 12 treatment rooms offering a range of holistic treatments – massages with organic oils and warm and cooled jade stones, scrubs with sea salt and brown sugar or chia seeds and nasturtium, and a sun recovery treatment which includes a body wrap with rose chamomile and lemon body cream.

The individually crafted treatments use specially formulated products from the Bamford body and skincare ranges.

Designed by luxury hotel and spa designer Spencer Fung, the spa incorporates 1 Hotels’ brand mission of sustainability into its design, featuring log walls from reclaimed ash trees, hickory floors from recycled timbers and willow bundles from salvaged trees.

‘We are delighted to call 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach home to Bamford Haybarn Spa,’ says Carole Bamford. ‘This is our first spa in America and we are thrilled to find a partner whose philosophy fits hand in hand with ours.’

Carole opened the first Daylesford Shop and Café at the family farm in 2002. Ten years later, the brand has shops throughout the UK. The clothing brand was launched in 2006. The second US Bamford Haybarn spa is set to open in 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge this autumn.
