Ex Canyon Ranch director, Diane Trieste, has announced plans to launch wellness cruises in 2019. She will join Blue World Voyages – a new kind of cruise line – as vice president of wellness.
The Blue World Voyages 350-capacity cruise liner will offer a luxury onboard spa, which the company claims will be the largest, per passenger, afloat. There will also be a gym, sports medicine clinic and yoga, spinning and TRX studios as well as a sea-water lap pool.
The company, co-founded by former Starbucks president John Richards and fitness entrepreneur Gene Meehan, will offer its first cruises in spring 2019 onboard a 350-capacity ship.
Diane Trieste says: “Our activities are designed to enable people who are already energised and healthy to have the time of their lives, but also to welcome people who want to be energised, healthy and have the time of their lives.”
Gene Meehan says: “Forty two million people in the US alone are considered ‘conscious consumers.’ They take care of themselves, eat well, stay active, and are in search of new experiences. Now, finally, they have their very own cruise line.”
