Cancer Touch Therapy gets CIBTAC endorsement

Cancer Touch Therapy gets CIBTAC endorsement

The Cancer Touch Therapy course by Made for Life has gained the first ever endorsement for cancer specific training from The Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC).

The fully CMA (Complementary Medical Association) accredited three-day Cancer Touch Therapy training course, launched in May 2017, enables spa therapists to massage those going through cancer treatment with confidence and clarity.

The endorsement from the internationally-recognised CIBTAC gives both the quality of the course content andthe examination and assessment procedures credibility.

Lesley Blair, Chair of CIBTAC, says: “Treating clients who have or are recovering from cancer is an area of concern for many therapists, and to date there have been very mixed guidelines. We are pleased to endorse the Made for Life Cancer Touch Therapy course as a credible and valuable resource for all therapists. CIBTAC endorsement gives the course the necessary credibility with insurers, which means that BABTAC members and other insured therapists will now be able to gain practice insurance for this course.”

Amanda Winwood, MD of Made for Life Organics and Founder of the Made for Life Foundation, says: “Receiving endorsement from CIBTAC means we are able to demonstrate to our learners our status and commitment to high quality training and our desire to maintain standards throughout the industry. It’s shocking that, at a time when a therapeutic and nurturing touch is most needed, 96 per cent of spas still turn people away whilst they are going through cancer. We believe that all spas should be accessible.”
