Changes afoot at Ghareini

A glimpse into the future of treatments with new Augmented Massage beds

Known for its innovatively designed massage tables and beds, Gharieni has launched Augmented Massage, in collaboration with Jean-Marie Adrien at Motion Waves.

Using the medium of motion-to-sound, in-built sensors in Gharieni’s new beds analyse the position and speed of the therapist’s movements in real time and transform this into the sounds of deep relaxation.

The technology uses the therapist’s natural instinct to create a unique mutual experience, involving both client and therapist, and helping to trigger all the senses during a treatment.

Jean Marie Adrien launched Motion Waves after concluding his career as a conductor and dancer, where he explored the relation of movement to sound. The company is devoted to making augmented spaces within luxury retail, using hidden sensors to create interactive, immersive environments.

Adrien partnered with Gharieni to bring his technology to the treatment room, integrating it into the MO1 treatment bed. ‘The steadily rising expectations of clients for extraordinary spa moments requires extraordinary ideas and an open mind to using state-of-the-art technology,’ he says.

Gharieni, which is headquartered in Germany, has also recently connected its branches in the Netherlands and Belgium to concentrate its operations for the whole Benelux area – Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
