Chiva-Som shuts for renovation

Chiva-Som shuts for renovation

Chiva-Som International Health Resort, which first opened in 1995, is closed for six months for renovation while it undergoes the third of four remodelling phases.

The Thai Pavilions, Emerald Room, Orchid Lounge, Library, Fitness Centre and Niranlada Medi-Spa will each undergo a complete overhaul to bring them up to date, while keeping the quintessential Thai spirit intact Chiva Som is renowned for.

The Niranlada Medi-Spa will be transformed from its original clinical design to be warmer and more relaxing. The consultation room will be redesigned to provide greater privacy during body assessments and a new make-up room will be created.

The resort will reopen on 1 November 2018. A fourth and final phase of works will take place at the same time next year.

This refurbishment is being overseen by chair and CEO of Chiva-Som International Health Resort, Krip Rojanastien, together with architecture firm Designrealization Siam. The new look will include materials such as local teak, silk and bamboo.

While the resort is closed, Chiva-Som specialists will offer a series of short videos called Talking Wellness, covering a range of activities and advice, from massage techniques to cooking demonstrations, available on the resort’s website, You Tube channel and Facebook page.
