Chiva-Som International Health Resorts is to open a Middle Eastern property in 2020 – the Zulal Wellness Resort in Khasooma in North Qatar.
The 280,000 sq m destination will feature ancient Arabic medicine, called Arabic Integrative Medicine (TAIM), operate sustainably and adhere to environmentally-conscious practices.
The name Zulal, which refers to purified water, is inspired by a people’s historic journey across land to the sea and the ever-present search for water – a concept that encapsulates the history, culture and heritage of Qatar.
Chiva-Som International Health Resort chairman and CEO, Krip Rojanastien, says: “This is the first time we have embarked on a management and operating contract since the opening of our Hua Hin resort in 1995.
“We are excited and proud to have created something completely new, whilst retaining the Chiva-Som DNA at every touchpoint.”
Underpinned by the belief that wellness is for everyone, the resort will include a 120-guestroom family wellness resort plus an adjacent 60-suite adults-only wellness resort.
