CIDESCO launches Educational Awareness Months

CIDESCO launches Educational Awareness Months

CIDESCO has introduced a series of special months and awareness days to encourage members to continually educate and improve their own careers, staff and businesses.

The world standard for beauty and spa therapy, CIDESCO started the series with ‘Total Guest Experience’ month in March, and is this month moving on to ‘Health & Safety month’.

Anna-Cari Gund, President of CIDESCO, says: ‘We kicked off with Total Guest Experience month because our guest’s experience should be at the forefront of our mind at all times. Even when you continually perform treatments to a high standard it is important to keep evaluating your service to make sure it’s the best possible, raising the bar and standards in our ever-developing industry.

‘Health and Safety month is designed to help our members improve their own standards beyond the basic requirements. Whilst there are laws that help us maintain health and safety standards, going above and beyond these will be noticed by the staff and clientele, creating a sense of pride among both. As a business, it is essential to keep striving for new levels of excellence and there is no better way to improve our industry than taking extra care of our staff and our clients.’

A series of health and safety tips can be found on the CIDESCO website.

CIDESCO, which has a membership spanning over 40 countries, has also announced registration is now open for its 65th World Congress and Exhibition, which will take place in Mumbai, India from 15th-19th September 2017, coinciding with the Professional Beauty India Show. The theme for this year’s Congress is Nurture through Nature and the Congress has one clear goal: To create a non-biased platform for Beauty and Skin Therapy professionals to have open and informative discussions for the development of the entire industry.

Founder & Trustee of the Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology (ABTC), Maya Paranjapye, says: ‘Three decades ago, when the beauty training industry in India was at a very nascent stage and beauty education was almost unheard of, we formed an association called ABTC and aligned ourselves with CIDESCO to stop short of nothing but the best. To host the CIDESCO Congress in India was my lifetime dream and we are privileged to have this opportunity to do so.’
