Dedicated London aesthetic practitioner Abigail Oleck-Hewett has work highlighted on BBC1 TV documentary

Whilst spas and clinics doors are closed to the public during lockdown, a leading London aesthetic has stepped up to volunteer for the NHS.

Like many, Abigail (Abi) Oleck-Hewett saw her business and income halted overnight on March 20, when the government announced the closure of non-essential businesses including spas, leisure facilities and salons. In a bid to help during the COVID-19 crisis, Abi instead joined thousands of other local community heroes to help provide vital support services to those in need.

Thanks to her experience as an aesthetic practitioner, the managing director of Beau Skin London has instead transferred her knowledge in high standards of infection control across to how she shops for others and delivers food and items to those in need.

As soon as the crisis struck, Abi closed her business to the public donating PPE to the local NHS, and hand-sanitisers to key workers. Abi also stepped into immediate action to help her local community by personally shopping for essentials for the vulnerable, collecting medicines, and donating food bags with the Capel Parish Angels and other local voluntary groups across Surrey. Abi has since had her volunteering efforts featured on the BBC 1 documentary ‘Ross Kemp: Volunteering Army.

Aged 47 and living in Surrey, Abi is part of the NHS Volunteering Army and Good Samaritans helping keyworkers, carers and those on the front line. Abi has a full infection control HQ set up in her house including face shields, gloves and sanitiser to ensure all items are sanitized before being passed across to others.

Abi has launched a justgiving fundraiser to help raise vital funds to donate more hand sanitisers to the vulnerable and key workers, and is also donating a Beau Skin face cream for every product purchased from her website to frontline NHS staff.
