Ensana Health Spa Hotels enters the wellness market

A brand new group of spa hotels has launched this month and has already become Europe’s largest health spa operator.

Ensana Health Spa Hotels has a portfolio of 26 spa hotels, previously operated under the Danubius Hotels Group.

The Ensana properties are located across the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. Their USP is that properties are built on naturally occurring and healing resources including mineral springs naturally occurring gases and even peat.

Ensana’s treatment menus are designed to help with various health conditions including cancer, infertility and problems with mobility, utilising the natural healing properties found on site in each hotel spa facility – the group has the largest collection of spa hotels located in spa towns, in Europe.

Mark Hennebry, Chairman of Ensana, says: “We are custodians of some of Europe’s most powerful and historic natural resources and we’re harnessing them in new and increasingly innovative ways to enhance the health of our guests.”

Ensana’s primary objective is to meet the growing demand for natural health and wellbeing treatments and experiences. Hennebry says: “We are continually seeking to expand and seek new opportunities for the brand. We have already invested significantly in our existing spa hotels and over the coming years, we have plans to innovate and invest in numerous ways – creating inspiring new treatments, facilities and of course, jobs.”

In 2020, Ensana will launch its first health spa hotel in the UK, based around the natural thermal waters at Buxton Crescent in Derbyshire.
