Ex-Rugby player’s business donates hand sanitiser to help keep air ambulances flying

Proverb, an innovative new premium natural skincare range founded by ex-Harlequins RFC player Luke Sherriff and his wife Kirstie, has donated hundreds of bottles of their new hand sanitiser to those still working to save lives during the COVID-19 crisis.

For every product sold, Proverb will match the order and donate a hand sanitiser to the Air Ambulance pilots and medical crews.

The business sent the bottles to the Babcock Air Ambulance team in Staverton. Babcock operates helicopters for air ambulance charities across the country and will use the sanitisers to help keep their teams operating safely during the COVID-19 crisis.

We were really grateful to Proverb for their kind donation. Our air ambulance pilots and the charity medical crews they work alongside can’t maintain social distancing in a helicopter, so PPE and hand sanitiser are vital in allowing them to continue their life saving operations during the COVID-19 pandemic” - John Fyall, Babcock, Aviation Communications Manager.

Proverb is trying to help the public and frontline heroes tackle the virus as lockdown restrictions continue to ease, accompanied by the need for an increased amount of hand sanitiser.

Not only is the skincare company passionate about helping the community through the creation of their new sanitiser, they are also taking the necessary steps to understand the complexities COVID-19 is having on the environment.

The 70% alcohol product is sold in a handy spray bottle, it is fast drying and eliminates the sticky gel residue that regular hand gels are associated with. It also uses entirely natural ingredients with none of the micro plastics found in many conventional gels.

Customers can buy one litre bottles for trade use or to decant into a handbag size bottle, saving 20 x 50 ml bottles from potentially entering landfill or being ocean bound. The refillable packaging is also 100% recyclable.

Proverb Co-Founder Luke Sherriff explains “We are so proud to be supplying our ‘one for one’ sanitiser donations to the Air Ambulance teams. We live 30 minutes from a hospital, so I have always felt very grateful for their existence. We want to do all we can to help our community during the pandemic. We may only be a small business, but we hope to make a big impact and spread our ‘GET OUT WHAT YOU PUT IN’ ethos.”
