The Hairdressing & Beauty Suppliers Association has merged with the Beauty Companies Association, effective today 14th May 2020.

Stephen MacDonough, President of the HBSA said, “I am very pleased that the merger with the BCA has been agreed. The merger of our two Associations will help to strengthen our voice in the industry, to offer continued support to our members, provide professional advice and greater networking opportunities to our new joint membership base”.

Lisa Gerrard, Chair of the BCA said, "We are both delighted and excited to be joining forces with the HBSA. This merger will undoubtedly strengthen the new association's representation across the beauty and haircare industries, enabling our members to have a more robust voice on relevant industry matters, as well as the opportunity to enjoy enhanced membership benefits."

Established in 1926, the HBSA is the UK’s trade association for suppliers to the professional hair and beauty industries. Over the coming weeks, the HBSA will continue to inform and update our new joint membership on industry matters, employment law, health and safety legislation, member benefit opportunities and future planned events. We will continue to work with other industry bodies to ensure that our voice is heard when discussions relating to our industry take place with the Government.

As the industry is allowed to open up again, the HBSA will be there to support members with information and advice on how businesses can establish safe distancing protocols in their premises. We will share best practice information on the correct equipment salons should use to create a safe environment for both staff and customers during this time of uncertainty.
