First phase of Irish Spa Data Project launches

First phase of Irish Spa Data Project launches

The initial phase of an innovative Spa Data project for Ireland will be launched in May 2019.

Developed and managed by the spa event experts, Spa Life International, the new project will provide spa owners and operators with regular, accurate and reliable market intelligence at an Industry level in the Irish market for the first time.

Created in response to a great demand within the spa industry, the first stage of the project will be free so that as many spas as possible can take part.

Quantifying the scope of the sector and intended to provide accurate and reliable market intelligence, the data will be collected through a comprehensive on-line survey that will be accessible to all spas in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The survey is hosted on a dedicated web site and is separated into five distinct sections. Providing a unique inventory of spa in the country (including the facility mix), it has been designed to benchmark a range of data points such as the availability of services; staffing numbers and retention, pricing of key services and market penetration for professional product houses.

On completion of the survey, each participating venue will instantly receive a concise summary report identifying a number of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) comparing their spa's performance versus other similar venues at any given moment in time. Participating spas can also return to the survey as many times as they wish to generate regular comparison reports.

Andrew Hammond, co-founder of Spa Life International commented: “The way we collate and share spa data, performance metrics and market intelligence at industry level has to improve. As an industry, we’ve traditionally been very bad at it and The Spa Data Project will change this for the better. This is important for our industry because knowledge is the engine that will drive the spa economy and data is its fuel. With The Spa Data Project, we will fundamentally and positively change the way the entire spa sector shares data, for the benefit of the whole industry.”

The Spa Data Project will be officially launched at the Spa Life Ireland Convention on Tues 14th May at Johnstown Estate. Conference tickets are still available to book on-line at www.spa-life.ie
