Galgorm Resort announces £2m expansion plans

Work has begun on a multi-million pound expansion at Northern Ireland’s Galgorm Resort and Spa.

The investment, funded solely by Galgorm, will include a two-acre spa garden, a two-tier fitness suite and dedicated spa eatery – an extension to one of the hotel’s existing food outlets.

As part of the first phase, the spa garden and fitness suite will open this summer. The garden will be populated with olive trees from Tuscany and include a water feature designed by local artist Billy McCullough. The purpose-built fitness suite will offer guests Pilates and yoga classes.

The spa eatery, Elements, will be constructed to cause minimal impact on the environment and have a strong ethos of healthy dining.

The on-site Italian restaurant Fratelli will also be renovated, increasing the seats from 80 to 180.

Colin Johnston, general manager, said: “We are delighted to be working on the next exciting phase of the development at Galgorm.

“This project was undertaken to create a world-class addition to the already outstanding guest facilities here. Our investment is entirely privately funded and clearly displays our faith in the future growth and prosperity of Ballymena.”
