Germaine de Capuccini tackles pollution

Skincare brand launches three skin ‘defence shields’

Germaine de Capuccini has launched a new professional treatment, together with two home-care products, each designed to help protect the skin from sources of pollution.

Pollution affects 65-70 per cent of women in urban areas and 30-35 per cent in rural areas. Daily, skin is exposed to more than 300 sources of pollution including a relatively new threat, HEV. It is a group of artificial light, known as blue light, emitted from electronic devices such as computers, laptops and mobile phones. HEV produces more hyperpigmentation than UVB and is more damaging that UVA and UVB combined.

Pollution is, together with UV rays, the first cause of ageing – the combination of both generates a large number of free radicals, depleting oxygen from the cells, suffocating the skin and accelerating the process of cellular ageing.

Germaine de Capuccini’s Cityproof is a professional anti-pollution oxygenating treatment, 1st Essence is a home-use serum to activate the skin’s defence mechanisms and Secret Mist can be used for protection throughout the day, under or over make-up. It offers a ‘flash effect’, minimizing pores, softening lines and leaves the skin instantly more radiant.

The new products provide a Triple Anti-Pollution Shield, using a group of polysaccharides to create a second ‘skin’, a fine film that neutralizes the oxidative stress produced by the three groups of pollutants.
