The five-star Grand Hotel and Spa in York has launched a helicopter transfer service for guests – the only such service in the UK.
Costing more than £875 for a one-way trip, it will offer guests the opportunity to be whisked, VIP-style, from their homes to the hotel and spa, and back again.
The hotel, which is set to almost double in size in March 2018 with the opening of 100 new rooms, says the bespoke service has been launched in response to requests from guests.
The £15m expansion plans include a new luxury Executive Lounge and Arrivals Lounge for the helicopter service, which will open soon.
Philip Bolson, General Manager, says: “As a luxury hotel we try to accommodate all of our guests’ unique requests to ensure an unforgettable stay. Recently we have been asked about helicopter landing spots and transfers. We have teamed up with a local aviation company who can provide transfers in two types of helicopter depending on how many guests will be staying with us.”
