Hatherley Manor announces spa plans

The 51-room Hatherley Manor hotel in Gloucester is set to open a luxury day spa in early 2018.

The spa is set to cost approximately £3m and will include six treatment rooms, a swimming pool and a vitality pool, a thermal suite, sensory showers, a sauna, steam-heated loungers and a fitness club.

It forms part of plans to transform the hotel into a wellness destination and will featrure its own private relaxation lounge, a rooftop terrace, an exclusive champagne bar and five luxury spa bedrooms with private balconies. There will be a shared roof top terrace for guests to soak up the late evening sun.

General manager of Hatherley Manor Stephen Trowbridge says: ‘'We’re all really excited about the launch of the spa, seeing the last couple years of planning now physically taking shape is fantastic for us. We believe that the addition of the spa will be a great addition to the hotel, our visitors but also the local residents and businesses that we serve.’

The Manor sits within 37 acres of gardens and grounds and is reputed to have been built for the illegitimate son of Oliver Cromwell. In addition to the new luxury spa, Hatherley Manor will be remodelling its unique walled garden.
