Kyricos joins Hyatt

Hyatt Hotels has appointed Mia Kyricos as its new senior vice president, global head of wellbeing.

The newly created role will see Kyricos shaping Hyatt’s wellbeing strategy for both guests and its 110,000 employees, underscoring the corporation’s ‘commitment to care for people so they can be their best’.

Kyricos will continue work Hyatt has already begun to enhance its wellness offering, such as investing in the growth of Miraval – with two new resorts underway – and Exhale experiences at Hyatt Place spas. She will be responsible for shaping a multidimensional global wellbeing strategy.

A respected leader in the wellbeing industry, Kyricos is also chair of the Wellness Communities Initiative, which she helped to found, and will be co-chairing at the 12th Global Wellness Summit in Italy in October.

She says: “Hyatt’s dedication to implementing wellbeing practices throughout all facets of the organisation demonstrates just one of the ways Hyatt continues to lead the way in the hospitality industry. This is the first time I’ve seen a company of its kind establish a cohesive position on wellbeing that fully encompasses all parts of the organisation.

“The approach and level of priority Hyatt is placing on wellbeing is unique. This isn’t just about what happens in a certain segment of its hotel business such as spa, it’s about realising the corporation’s highest purpose – its raison d’etre – and that’s ‘care for people’.”
