Made for Life Organics has agreed a new partnership with the The Academy of Clinical Training in Scotland to extend Cancer Touch Therapy training into Scotland.

Made for Life Organics trainers Emma Williams and Nicci Anstey will be working alongside the team to introduce Cancer Touch Therapy courses in February at The Academy of Clinical Training, Glasgow. The Academy team will be offering both onsite training and extending this in partnership with Made for Life Organics into salons and spas across Scotland during 2022.

Cancer Touch Therapy training is SATCC approved and accredited by the Complementary Medical Association. It was developed with advice from trained oncology massage teachers, and advisors from the oncology team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and Macmillan.

The training programme is designed to empower therapists with the skills, expertise and knowledge to undertake body and facial treatments for people living with cancer. It enables a deeper understanding of what cancer is, the staging and grading of cancer and how the treatments for cancer can affect the need to adapt spa treatments. It is intended to broaden the horizons of each therapist and to ensure that each and every person living with cancer can access wellbeing therapies in a spa setting when they need them most.

This is a natural partnership between two fantastic CIBTAC certified centres who work tirelessly to deliver worldwide recognised training within the industry.  We feel this exciting collaboration further enhances Made for Life’s passions to ensure inclusivity for everyone.  The coming together of these two teams makes CTT training more accessible than ever while further safeguarding the treatment of cancer sufferers.” said Lesley Blair, Chief Executive and Chair CIBTAC/BABTAC

Jenny Storey,  The Academy said “The Academy are thrilled to partner with Made for Life Organics to become their training provider North of the Border to deliver their Cancer Touch Therapy training course.   As Scotland’s only CIBTAC registered training centre it’s the perfect opportunity to offer CTT training and make it more accessible to therapists UK wide. The Academy and Made for Life Organics have the same beliefs and passion where we truly feel that holistic therapies should be available to anyone diagnosed with the condition.  For too long now cancer conditions have been considered as “contraindicated” and therapists have been discouraged from offering treatment, we strive to change these misconceptions and ensure therapists are equipped and prepared to be “inclusive”.”

Meanwhile, Amanda Winwood, Managing Director, Made for Life Organics commented; “Made for Life is delighted to be partnering with The Academy, who have a strong training team and great shared ethics and values. This partnership extends our ability to train and educate therapists and spas throughout Scotland to welcome people with cancer into their spas and salons. The Academy team who are based in Glasgow will offer training both onsite at the Academy and also within spas.” .
