Marie Claire branches into salons

Media brand Marie Claire is set to open new beauty and hair salons in train stations and airports in 2020.

The salons, called Marie Claire Jet Style, will offer speedy hair and beauty services for time-poor travellers.

The first will open at London’s King’s Cross St Pancras train station in February 2020. Another is planned for Waterloo and Marie Claire is in talks to also launch at London Bridge, New Street and Victoria stations throughout the year.

Marie Claire Jet Style salons are also set to open in Heathrow’s terminals two, three and five in the first quarter of the year.

Each salon will offer manicure, pedicure and blow dry treatments. It has been announced that the London’s King’s Cross St Pancras site will also provide coffee by Starbucks.

A global rollout of Marie Claire Jet Style, founded by editorial and celebrity hairstylist and entrepreneur Steph Stephenson, is planned across 215 airport hubs and 19 UK railway stations.

Stephenson says: “My lightbulb moment came when I realised that, like the 123,000 other women travelling through Heathrow, it had been a mad dash to get manicured and styled before I left, then I was sitting in an airport for two hours wasting time.

“I wondered why, when 75% of us work full time, there wasn’t an option to maximise this lost time. The multi service salon was born from this need. I wanted to work with Marie Claire as the global experts in hair and beauty advice and education.”
