Suicide is the number one killer of men under 45, and it is with this in mind that Natural Spa Factory has launched a series of spa treatments dedicated to male wellbeing. It is hoped the male-centric treatment menu will go some way to helping facilitate better male mental health.
Whilst Natural Spa Factory understands a spa treatment can’t ‘fix’ mental health, the brand is conscious that it is a good place start.
The I Am Man collection of treatments will be launching in line with Father’s Day. The treatments include The Volcanic Blast Resurfacing Facial, which uses a pure black volcanic sand harvested from the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland and the Granite Back and Foot Recharge, which features Natural Spa Factory’s new Sole Food Foot Nutrition. Sole Food is a thick balm that deeply nourishes feet, helping to repair heel cracks; it’s available to both trade and retail customers while The Volcanic Blast Face Polish is available purely to professional customers.
Co-Founder, Emma Webber, says: “Spas are so important for fundamental wellness. Providing a safe and calm environment, infused with positive energy, can help trigger mental wellbeing. A spa isn’t just a detox for the body – it can be an incredible detox for mind, too. The I Am Man treatment menu urges men to think about not just themselves, but about the environment, and our intrinsic connection with nature, too. The treatments are incredibly grounding and have been designed to instil both mental and physical calm.”
The I Am Man treatments utilise environmentally mindful products; dry where possible, meaning fewer, or zero preservatives and a lower carbon footprint. The retail products that match the treatments are described as Shelf Naked – they are sold with the minimum amount of packaging and no outer plastics and boxing. Packaging has also been mindfully designed to encourage Second Life use; apothecary jars, for example, transform into a vase for a therapy room.
