New spa announced for Crantock Bay

New spa announced for Crantock Bay

Newquay’s new leisure development will be home to a boutique day spa, due to open in June

The independently owned spa represents the latest phase in a redevelopment that has seen the former Crantock Bay Hotel transformed into 11 luxury self-catering apartments plus a health club with a heated indoor pool.

Owned and managed by the Eyles family, which first acquired the hotel in 1951, the 775sq ft spa will feature products by Cornish skincare range Spezia Organics. It will offer three treatment rooms and be open to guests staying in the holiday apartments as well as non-guests.

Designed by Newquay-based Whitrow Design, the spa’s USP will be to offer non-toxic treatments to cancer sufferers. The spa will also feature a relaxation room, nail bar and have access to the indoor heated pool and grounds.

Nina Eyles, director of Crantock Bay, says: ‘The business has been growing organically and we're delighted with the response from our guests. The collaboration with Spiezia Organics enables us to offer something special to those going through tough times. Crantock Bay has been voted Britain's best beach on a number of occasions and is just at the bottom of the garden. It's a wonderful spot and, by developing the new spa and stocking it with the best local products available, we believe we've found another way of offering visitors an unforgettable, all year-round Cornish experience.’
