Nimue launches new microbiome skincare range

Nimue launches new microbiome skincare range

Nimue, the specialist in smart skincare technology, has launched a new Purifying Range to help clients with problematic skin conditions.

The pre and post biotic ingredients in Nimue Purifying provide clients relief from breakouts, oiliness, pustules, and pimples, whilst reducing the appearance of enlarged pores.

In addition to Nimue’s signature active ingredients, such as Triple AHA complex that works to improve skin from beneath the surface, the newly formulated range includes Dermabiotics, a blend of prebiotics and postbiotics, that work to balance the skin’s microbiome – the natural bacteria that already exist on the skin and help to keep skin clear, oil-free, and healthy.

People with problematic skin types will benefit from the range’s four products that work together to address skin concerns below the surface, thanks to a specific selection of active ingredients that interact to produce results. These are the new Purifier Day and Purifier Night, as well as the Purifying Mask and the Purifying Serum.

Purifier Day and Purifier Night
With Triple AHA Complex and Niacinamide as key active ingredients, the Purifier Day and Purifier Night are lightweight, fast absorbing creams that are suited for the control and management of oily, congested and inflamed problematic skin.

Purifying Mask
Available for homecare and professional use, the Purifying Mask is a cooling, soft and creamy treatment mask in a clay and charcoal base for problematic skin of all ages. It contains Vitamin B3, Salicylic Acid and Pumpkin Enzyme, providing users with deep exfoliation to remove impurities and excess oil. For use at home, the Purifying Mask can be applied twice weekly morning/evening and be left on the skin for 15 to 20 minutes.

Purifying Serum
A multi-active serum that is enriched with Dermabiotics, anti-oxidants and encapsulated Retinol to clear, brighten and reduce oil in problematic skin.

Understanding the importance of a balanced skin microbiome:

  • The skin is home to a wide variety of naturally occurring microbiota, consisting of commensal (organisms that benefit from us, but are not harmful to their hosts) and mutualistic organisms (organisms which have a mutually beneficial relationship with our bodies).
  • These bacteria derive nutrition from skin cells and secretions, such as sweat and sebum. While our natural inclination is to wipe the skin clear of all traces of these secretions, doing so has a negative impact on the naturally occurring ecosystem of bacteria that exists on the skin’s surface.
  • The skin microbiome plays a critical role in maintaining and forming a natural protective barrier on the skin surface. A healthy skin microbiome creates a healthy skin barrier resulting in healthy skin.

The new Nimue Purifying Range, now with Dermabiotics to help maintain a healthy microbiome in the skin, is available to purchase from approved Nimue stockists from official UK distributor Sweet Squared.
