Online Spa Management qualification delivered through virtual classroom

Online Spa Management qualification delivered through virtual classroom

The Spa Education Academy, launched by Kathryn Dowthwaite-Blay, aims to make sought-after spa management qualifications more accessible.

Created to offer a solution to the spa management skills gap, highlighted by the Global Wellness Institute back in 2012, the online Spa Management qualification is delivered through virtual classroom sessions once per month, and accredited by ITEC and CIBTAC. Students also carry out independent learning through a virtual learning platform, completing seven sessions, and seven assignments over seven months, with virtual mentorship and live feedback from Kathryn.

Kathryn says: ‘Frankly we still have a lot of work to do. There is a lack of available and accessible spa management qualifications – not all spa professionals can study full-time at university, however many want a higher level qualification that is rigorous, academic, recognised and highly regarded.

“Most of my students are already well-established professionals, often they’re spa managers who want the higher education underpinning and are eager to learn more. Students are based all over the world, so they learn not only from the content but from one another, too. Presently we have students studying in St Kitts, Dubai, the Maldives, Mauritius, Scotland, Ireland, and England.

Qualifications are priced at £1,350, payable in instalments.
