Rivers Fitness Droitwich Spa benefits from £1.1m transformation

The second phase of the £1.1m refurbishment and redesign of Rivers Fitness Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre has been completed by leisure design and build specialists Createability.

The oldest of the three leisure centres owned by Wychavon District Council, the second phase of the project was funded by Wychavon Leisure (Rivers), a not-for-profit company that manages the facility.

Working closely with heat experience specialists Dalesauna, Createability converted the male changing rooms and a storage garage into a steam and sauna area and relocated the health suite next to the wet-side changing rooms. A new health spa suite was also created, which features an aroma steamroom, salt inhalation room, sauna ice feature, rain showers and heated benches.

Brian Thompson, Commercial Director at Createability commented: “We worked very closely with the client during this project to ensure we met all their aspirations and that the facility was transformed into a modern fresh environment. We have been fully involved in both the design service aspect, as well as construction services and this allowed us to manage the budget effectively while providing Wychavon with a bespoke and quality finish.”
