Shelley Hepburn joins Gaia as group spa director

Five-star Boringdon Hall’s Gaia Spa has appointed Shelley Hepburn as its new group spa director.

Hepburn joins Gaia spa, which opened last year in Plymouth, and brings with her more than 20 years industry experience.

Her previous roles include spa at fitness director for the pre-opening of The Ned at London’s Soho House, spa director at the Bulgari Hotel and spa manager at Pennyhill Park Hotel and Spa.

Hepburn says: ‘It's been an amazing opportunity to be appointed for Gaia. I have admired the Nettleton family’s work in spa and hospitality since I met them over 10 years ago. Sharing the same ethos and goals in wellness as I do, I'm looking forward to being a part of something special at Gaia and embracing the spirit the south west has to offer the spa industry with the growth of this exciting brand.’

Diane Nettleton, director at Gaia spa, says: ‘I am excited to welcome Shelley to Gaia, particularly as I have seen her amazing achievements over the years. She brings a wealth of experience and a warmth and energy to Gaia, to build on what we have already created, continue our vision as a wellness destination and grow the Gaia brand.’

Boringdon Hall Hotel, famous for its magically imposing nature, was named the ‘enchanted place on the hill’ when it was originally built in 1640. Set within eight acres, on the edge of Dartmoor, the Elizabethan manor is home to 40 rooms, two restaurants and an extensive ‘Spatisserie’. The spa’s facilities include 12 treatment rooms, infinity and hydrotherapy pools with outdoor swim-through, heat and shower experiences such as a Finnish sauna, crystal steam toom and Laconium, and a deep relaxation room and outdoor areas for yoga and meditation.
