The owners of Stratton House Hotel in the Cotswolds have secured planning consent to build a £1m spa.

The 44-room, 17th century Hotel in Cirencester, owned by Aidan and Sarah Stevens, will soon begin work on the spa. Plans include five treatment rooms, beauty suites, a steam room, a sauna, a juice bar and an outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking a listed walled garden.

The 325sq m spa is scheduled to open in early 2020,

Aidan Stevens says: ‘Since taking over the hotel in 2016 we have focused on turning it into a top Cotswolds venue with a reputation to match. The new spa is very much part of those plans as it will take the hotel to another level.

‘We now have an extensive eight-month build process to get the new spa ready and will focus on making every little detail perfect. We have visited spas across the UK and abroad and will be trying to replicate all the good practice we’ve seen to give people a place in which to relax and unwind.’

Stratton House was originally the home of 17th century wool merchants, the Masters family. It remained a private home until 1947 when it became a hotel.
