Sustainability Awards open for entries

The Green Spa Network’s (GSN) sixth annual Sustainability Awards are now accepting entries

The awards, first launched in 2012, recognise sustainable and eco-friendly innovation and leadership by the spa industry. The awards programme celebrates efforts that positively support the building of a sustainable future.

‘Proactively caring for the health of our people and planet is what the spa industry has always been about,’ said Karen Short, president of GSN. ‘By recognising the achievements in spa and sustainability, GSN elevates the awareness of success stories to inspire other businesses to create positive change.’

The public is encouraged to submit recommendations of spa brands that are practising sustainable responsibility. An independent judging panel, made up of experts in the sustainability, spa and wellness industries, will then award brands that are the leading lights in social and environmental responsibility.

The judging panel is made up of Debra Duneier, founder of EcoChi, Ulli Peck, owner of The Wellness Agency, Julie Keller Callaghan, publisher of American Spa Magazine, Rona Berg, editor-in-chief of Organic Spa Magazine and Glenn Hasek, editor of Green Lodging.

They will select seven winners from four different categories – the Sustainable Building Award, the Best Innovative Sustainability Initiative, the Leadership in Sustainability Award and the Sustainable Spa Brand Award.

Winners will be announced in December 2017 and appear at the 10th Anniversary GSN Congress from 11-14 March 2018 at Carmel Valley Ranch in California, USA.
