Claire Primrose has been appointed as the new spa manager of Cairndale Hotel in Dumfries, Scotland. Her primary responsibility is to lead the recruitment efforts for the spa following the recent announcement of the hotel's £2 million spa development plan.

Claire Primrose, a qualified beauty therapist, joins Cairndale from Apex Hotels, where she previously served as the spa manager at Yu Spa in Edinburgh. With a decade of experience in the wellness and hospitality sector, she has held notable positions such as spa treatments manager at Edinburgh’s Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa, and she spent seven years with One Spa World at sea. Primrose began her career as a spa therapist at Spa Sirene at The Royal Yacht Hotel in Jersey.

The Cairndale transformation project includes replacing the hotel's existing leisure club with a new 1,285 square meter spa and wellness café. The spa will feature six treatment rooms, a thermal pool, rasul, aroma steam room, Himalayan salt sauna, Hammam, herbal lounge, and an external spa garden with amenities such as a cold pool, garden sauna, and warm room.

Supported by nearly £400,000 in development funding from South of Scotland Enterprise, the project is expected to generate over £12 million in additional income for the local economy over the next decade.

The construction of the new spa began in early January, with plans for a public opening in late spring. Primrose emphasizes the importance of prioritizing staff wellness alongside customer satisfaction once the spa is operational.
