The Massage Company’s growth continues

Membership-based massage franchise The Massage Company (TMC) continues its UK growth this month, with the opening of a second massage centre in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

The £500,000 centre, located inside a 200-year-old brewery, houses 14 treatment rooms, including a duo treatment room for couples.

The opening continues the on-demand massage service’s mission to ‘bring massage to the mainstream’. For franchisees Taran and Sophie Bassi, the centre is the first of three locations they plan to operate. It offers a range of massages including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports and Maternity.

Designed to make massage accessible, TMC’s membership model encourages clients to think of massage as a form of self-care, rather than a luxury. It offers a monthly membership scheme, making massages available 12 hours a day, seven days a week.

Elliot Walker, founder and commercial director, says: “Taran and Sophie have found a terrific property near the centre of the town. The whole design has been copied across from the pilot centre in Camberley, giving consistent quality and customer experience within the centre.  We are delighted to have found a location with such visibility and potential for local customers.”

Taran Bassi says: “We started recruitment in early May and I have been hugely encouraged by not only the quality of our massage therapy team, but also the volume of response generated by our recruitment partners.”

TMC has also set up The Massage Company Training Academy, to train qualified massage therapists to deliver advanced massage techniques.

The Tunbridge Wells team have all passed the TMC Training Programme, designed and assessed by John Holman, Director of Massage Training. Using techniques designed to be both highly effective and highly protective (to the therapists), TMC believe they have a massage experience that’s 50% better than the average in the UK, whilst simultaneously protecting therapists.
