Titanic Spa Releases its First Ever Sustainability Report: Empowering Change, Sustaining Luxury

Titanic Spa, the UK’s first eco spa based in Huddersfield is delighted to release its first ever sustainability report for 2023, Empowering Change, Sustaining Luxury. This landmark report marks a significant step in the spa's ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.

The comprehensive inaugural report reflects Titanic Spa’s commitment to environmental responsibility, detailing the tangible impact of its sustainable initiatives with detailed figures. Highlights include:

  • Saved 36,500 plastic bottles and cartons a year, by switching to glass alternatives in partnership with the local milkman.
  • PVs generate 32,000 kilowatt hours per year
  • Saved 130m3 per day by using own natural water supply
  • By doing laundry on site, Titanic Spa saves 60 miles a day in carbon footprint
  • No more than 25 total miles travelled for food
  • Ecofriendly miles travelled by staff to work each day: 60km per day by bike with car sharing and public transport the most common mode of transport

Warrick Burton, Managing Director of Titanic Spa said “We’ve been leading the way for sustainable travel since 2005, but have never publicised the results from our actions, which is something we’ve decided to do going forward. The report will allow us to show that we really do practice what we preach, as well as give us something to strive towards bettering year on year, with tangible results.

Opening its doors in 2005, the spa spearheaded sustainable travel out of passion, as opposed to necessity, but as time has gone on, 78% of travellers are consciously choosing travel experiences that place importance on the environment and its impact. The spa recycles as many materials as possible, providing recycle bins for both apartment guests and spa guests as well as recycled paper for any spa brochures and uses vegetable ink dyes for printing. In addition to its commitment to banning on site single-use plastic, the spa also makes use of solar panels for electricity, low U-value windows, and energy efficient OTEX laundry system. The spa demonstrates its commitment to reducing ithttps://www.titanicspa.com/s environmental impact while providing guests with a luxurious and guilt-free experience.

As Titanic Spa continues to redefine luxury through sustainability, this report serves as a testament to its commitment to creating a guilt-free, luxurious experience for guests while championing environmental responsibility.
