Titanic Spa Reports a Surge in Bookings for Yorkshire Staycations

After weeks of closure due to the Coronavirus pandemic, like many spa businesses Titanic Spa re-opened its doors to customers this summer on 1st August. Following a month of operation, the spa has reported a huge rise in bookings proving that the great British ‘staycation’ looks set to continue through the autumn months.

The eco-spa reports that despite operating at 40% capacity to comply with government restrictions, August has been the busiest month on record with occupancy upwards of 97%. September and October bookings are set to continue upwards providing a welcome relief for the business. The spa is predicting in the coming months there will soon be more demand than space so is looking forward to opening thermal spaces when it is safe to do so under government advice.

Aside from the thermal spaces which remain closed, the award-winning spa’s facilities, which are open in bookable time slots continue to be a major draw for customers both in the northern corridor and UK wide.

Working to Government guidelines, Titanic Spa has implemented several safety measures for the health and comfort of their spa guests and staff. This includes safe social distancing in all areas; increased hygiene procedures; one-way systems for travelling around the spa; social distanced seating in the Bistro and Bar 1911 and protective screens in high contact areas. All staff wear PPE which includes visors for treatments, and alcohol gel dispensers have been installed throughout the spa for safe and easy access.

Warrick Burton, Director of Titanic Spasays; “Overall, the first month of opening has been great and we’re pleased to have seen a great return in customers. We have had to amend our offering to fit with the guidelines and to keep both our staff and valued customers safe.”

We spent a lot of time during the pre-opening phase planning and tweaking packages to ensure they fit with the guidelines but do not disrupt the Titanic experience that we are known for. We are pleased to have received positive feedback from those that have visited us so far with many customers telling us that they feel safe and secure with us. It is extremely important to the business that we are doing this safely and doing it right – I feel that we have achieved this in this unprecedented time”.
