UK parents to seek spa solace this summer holidays

Spas across Europe can expect a hike in summer holiday booking, predicts spa bookings agency spabreaks.com

The brand saw a 45 per cent spike in family spa break visits during the summer holiday period of 2016.

Between 19 July and 31 August 2016, the site registered 45 per cent more visits to its family spa page than in the period 5 June to 18 July 2016, which the spa specialists attribute to parents seeking spa solace as the fraught reality of the school break hits home.

Abi Wright, founder of Spabreaks.com, says: ‘With the children at home for several weeks, we’re expecting to see a significant rise in searches for spa getaways as adults seek out family-friendly spa escapes to give the entire family some spa space to calm frayed nerves and short tempers. Taking children to a spa hotel is far less daunting than parents may think and can be combined with a visit to a nearby attraction so that everyone feels treated.’
