Urban Retreat has announced plans to open its first standalone London salon. Called The White House, the 12,000sq ft, five-storey flagship will open in Knightsbridge this month.
The flagship, being billed as the ‘ultimate beauty destination’, is housed inside a former private residence. Urban Retreat used to be based in Harrods until its 15-year partnership ended last year. The brand is promising its new flagship will ‘challenge the beauty hospitality space’ by offering a retail space, a Frédéric Fekkai hair salon and CND's London flagship nail salon.
The basement will be a ‘detox haven’, home to nutritionists and wellbeing consultants offering intolerance testing and tailored weight-management programmes as well as colonic hydrotherapy. Other facilities will include infrared saunas and a studio for meditation and soundproof yoga.
The second and third floors will offer traditional beauty and medi-spa services, and the Limited Edition Suite, which will host external beauty brands. A creative studio will host guest residences for tattoo and piercing artists, to provide an edgier beauty offering.
In-house restaurant and cocktail bar Flavour by Urban Retreat will offer a balanced and nutritious menu, free from artificial colours and flavourings.
Managing director, Reena Hammer, says: ‘We want to revolutionise and own the beauty hospitality space with our authoritative approach to service, best-in-class professional and retail products, alongside an elevated customer experience. The grand nature of The White House is perfect for Urban Retreat to realise its vision – where beauty meets hospitality.’
